The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced 26 April that technical teams have begun the installation and assembly of the third gas turbine at the Zahra power station, south west of Tripoli.
The power station is currently undergoing extensive maintenance work ahead of bringing it fully back online. The work will increase efficiency of the electrical network in anticipation of peak summer demand.
