|

The National Oil Cooperation (NOC) announced today, 16 January, that the prime minister of the Government of Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, had accepted the resignation of the corporation’s chairman, Farhat Bengdara, because of a serious health condition which prevents him from carrying out his responsibilities to the best of his abilities.

Dabaiba has appointed Massoud Suleiman, a member of the NOC’s board of directors, as interim president pending a cabinet meeting on the formation of a new board.

In its statement, the corporation confirmed its commitment to ensuring the stability of the oil sector and supporting the national economy.
