Masoud Suleiman and Khalifa Abdulsadek Meet with Top Energy Company Officials Pledge Transparency in Public Tenders

The acting chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, along with the GNU acting oil and gas minister, Khalifa Abdulsadek, explored opportunities for collaboration with leading international oil and gas companies at a meeting with them on the sidelines of the CERAWeek conference in Houston which concluded its activities on 14 March.

According to a statement from the NOC, Suleiman and Abdulsadek held separate meetings with the heads and officials of several major oil and oil services companies, notably Shell, SLB, Eni, Total, Halliburton, ConocoPhillips Repsol and Solar Turbines.

There were also meetings with the US Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, and Turkey’s energy and natural resources minister, Alparslan Bayraktar.

Suleiman affirmed the NOC’s desire to expand the number of strategic partners operating in Libya in order to develop new projects in the country. He invited them all to invest by taking part in the planned new concession tender round.

The Libyan team repeated its assurances to foreign companies regarding the upcoming contracting procedures. It said that the procedures would adhere to the highest standards of transparency and would safeguard the rights of partners based on the principle of mutual benefit.
