
The acting GNU Minister of Oil iand Gas, Khalifa Abdulsadek, had talks on 5 May with discussed with the Maltese ambassador, Charles Saliba, on ways to develop cooperation and expand partnership possibilities in the oil, gas and energy sectors.
During the meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli, Abdulsadek stressed that Libya wants to attract foreign investment, especially in light of the NOC’s efforts to raise production capacity to two million barrels a day,. This, he said, presents major investment opportunities.
According to the ministry, Abdulsadek proposed the embassy coordinate with private sector companies in Malta and Libya to organise a Libyan–Maltese economic forum which would be a practical way of exchanging experiences and strengthening partnerships in the interests of both countries.
