Libya’s AGOCO and Austria’s OMV Explore Production Increases

|

Tripoli, Libya – The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) held discussions with Austrian energy firm OMV on 1 February regarding potential production increases. The meeting, as detailed in an AGOCO Facebook post, focused on planned operations within OMV’s contract area for 2025. AGOCO did not disclose any specifics but it partners with OMV in the Nafoura-Awjila oilfield (Contract Area 91).

The talks centered on enhancing production processes through advanced operational strategies aimed at improving oil extraction rates. This initiative aligns with AGOCO’s broader production goals. On 19 January the company announced that its total output had reached 304,000 barrels of crude oil.
