The acting GNU oil and gas minister, Khalifa Abdulsadek, who has been visiting Washington, has had discussions there on the opportunities to increase cooperation in various energy sectors with ExxonMobil’s Vice-President for International Government Relations for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean, Rochdi A. Younsi. Also attending were ExxonMobil’s co-head of international crude oil trading, Chris Taggart, and ministerial advisor Jamal Huwaisa.
In a statement released 26 April, the oil and gas ministry said that the discussions had focused on potential investment in exploration and production. Such investment, it added, would contribute to the development of Libya’s oil and gas sector.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the annual Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
