
The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on 25 may the charging of Transformer No. 2 at Bir Al-Usta Milad substation in Tajoura the 220/30 kV, 100 MVA in which the company said that the unit is back online after being out of service for over five years due to technical faults and a lack of necessary spare parts.
GECOL praised this significance of restoring a key transformer in enhancing the performance of the power grid and improving supply efficiency in eastern and southern Tripoli.
GECOL also said in the statement that a significant power transformer has been successfully brought back into operation after the provision of required spare parts as well as that this reactivation is a key component of an integrated strategy aimed at overhauling the power transmission infrastructure and enhancing service for citizens in the Ain Zara and Tajoura regions,which witnessed repeated interruptions in previous periods due to Pressure on the network and lack of operational capabilities.
