GECOL projects in south Tripoli

|

According to the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), work on two new projects is being carried out to maintain the quality and stability of the electricity supply to areas of south Tripoli, in particular Ain Zara. There is growing demand for energy in the area as a result of major population expansion there.

The company announced on its official Facebook page that one of the projects is to connect the Habaybiya substation to the existing line (Al-Ummahat – Wadi Al-Rabeea) at 30 kV. It says that work is quickly moving forward and should be completed soon.

As part of efforts to support and develop the electricity grid, GECOL had also previously announced the completion of the civil works phase for the Al-Nasub Al-Tadkari 11/30 kV substation project in Ain Zara. This will now enable necessary equipment to be installed.
