Brega Oil Marketing warns of substandard household gas cylinders

|

Brega Oil Marketing Company said on 2 April that it had issued an alert to managers of gas bottle-filling centres as well as to household gas bottle distributors and to the general public about the existence of replica cooking gas cylinders circulating in the local market that do not meet the company’s specifications and safety standards.

The company detailed the characteristics of these imitation cylinders, noting that they were originally orange in colour but had been repainted beige and that they are marked as having a load weight of 15.4 kilograms. They had been imported from China.

Brega Oil said that these cylinders could pose a risk to public safety during use, as they entered Libya without undergoing the necessary technical inspection.
