Libya and Turkey Explore Energy Collaboration Opportunities

|

The GNU’s acting oil and gas minister, Khalifa Abdulsadek, had talks with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar, on 13 March regarding potential collaboration in various energy sectors.

The meeting, which took place in Houston, Texas, on the sidelines of the CERAweek global energy conference, was also attended by the National Oil Cooperation (NOC) chairman, Masoud Suleiman. The two sides stressed the importance of continuing joint discussions about developing the hydrocarbon sector in a way that serves the interests of both countries, a statement to the oil ministry said.

Turkey’s Anadolu Agency noted that in a meeting last September on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum between Bayraktar and Abdulsadek, the Turkish minister had formally offered to share Turkish expertise in oil and gas exploration with Libya.
