AGOCO in talks with NESR on further collaboration

|

The Gulf Arabian Oil Company (AGOCO) is developing its already burgeoning relationship with Houston-based oil drilling and services corporation NESR (National Energy Services Reunited).

AGOCO’s chairman, Mohamed Ben Shatwan, had talks in Benghazi on 6 March with the managing director of NESR’s Libya branch, Wissam Abouturkia, and its Benghazi-based operations manager for eastern Libya, Walid Al-Barghathi, on collaboration in a number of fields, in particular digitalisation and efforts to increase production.

It was the latest in a series of joint meetings over the past five months. Last October, Ben Shatwan and Abouturkia discussed possible schemes to boost productivity involving both human and technical resources. In January, AGOCO and NESR ran a workshop on the latest developments in drilling technology.

The latest talks saw Abouturkia showcase the work of NESR’s research and technology centre and the potential involvement of its work in the Libyan energy sector.
