Supreme Council of Energy and Water assesses 2025 Projects

The Supreme Council for Energy and Water Affairs held its first meeting of 2025, chaired by the GNU prime minister, Abdulhamid Dabaiba.

The meeting, held in Tripoli on 13 February, assessed domestic needs for fuel and electricity, as well as the plan to develop gas production. The meeting also discussed the national energy strategy.

According to a statement published the same day in the GNU’s Hakumitna site, those present agreed on the importance of continuing to increase oil and gas production rates in order to support the budget and boost national income and thus ensure stability and promote economic development.

Also at the meeting was the acting NOC chairman, Masoud Suleiman, and GNU Oil Minister Abdulsadek, the chairman of the Audit Bureau, Khalid Shakshak, along with the chairman of GECOL (the General Electricity Compan of Libya), Mohamed Al-Mashai, and a number of other senior officials.
