
Tripoli, Libya – The third Libya’s Energy and Economic Summit commenced yesterday, Saturday, in Tripoli, drawing participation from over 250 international companies.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeiba, along with the Ministers of Oil, Economy and Trade, Transportation, and Labor and Rehabilitation. Also at the event were the Secretary-General of OPEC, the Secretary-General of OAPEC, the Secretary-General of APPO (African Petroleum Producers Organization), and the Secretary-General of the GECF (Gas Exporting Countries Forum).
The two-day summit (Saturday and Sunday) features extensive participation from oil majors and oil service companies as well as academic researchers from Libya.
The summit is focusing on encouraging investment potential in the Libyan energy sector as well as operational mechanisms and future prospects of Libya’s oil and energy sector. Participants are also looking at strategies to address the challenges facing the industry.
The Government of National Unity said that these sessions aim to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and experience exchange, thereby contributing to the development of effective strategies to navigate the global energy market’s evolving landscape.
