
Five Arab states, Libya among them, took a 900-percent share of US total oil imports in the first eleven months of 2024.
A report by Al-Taqa news site revealed that the US imported approximately 192.2 million barrels of crude oil from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Libya, the UAE, and Kuwait between January and November 2024, constituting 8.9 percent of its total oil imports and amounting to nearly $15.9 billion. The US remains the world’s largest consumer of crude oil.
Saudi Arabia topped the list of Arab oil exporters to the US, with 92.53 million barrels, followed by Iraq with 64.11 million barrels, Libya with 16.14 million barrels, the UAE with 12.17 million barrels and Kuwait with 7.20 million barrels.
