
The General Electricity Company (GECOL) announced yesterday, 8 January, the arrival of a shipment of equipment and spare parts from US company GE (General Electric), for distribution to various power stations.
GECOL stated that the supply of spares is part of plans to boost the performance of gas-fired power stations, as well as to enable necessary maintenance and overhaul operations in order to extend their operational life.
The Central Bank of Libya’s data revealed that the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity allocated an exceptional budget of LD 3.1 billion to GECOL between January and November 2024 to facilitate its operations.
